Before visitation restrictions were put in place at St. Vincent, Kael would visit me multiple times a day and switch out with my mom to make sure I wasn't alone in the hospital. He would stay over every night and read me Harry Potter, wake up to hold my hand during daily blood draws at 4am, peel me mandarins and make little towers to make me laugh, and reassure me when I was crying from severe pain. When he couldn't visit, he delivered cards to the hospital every day. He would send me videos of Atlas to make me smile. He'd video call me at night to read me more Harry Potter until I fell asleep. Now that I'm home he's made me food everyday. He's help lift me off the bed and walk me to the bathroom when my light sensitivity and pain is so bad I can barely move without crying. He's probably made me 50 cups of tea at this point. I don't even know how to express how much love and gratitude I feel towards this person. As someone who's job is to take care of others, it's very difficult for me to accept help and care when it's directed towards me. Having this stroke has been the worst experience of my life, but it brought me even closer to my favorite person. I am so thankful for you and I love you very very much ❤️
